Do you know...?

Do you know how exhausting track???? It's like a hundred degrees outside and running just doesn't make it better!!! (Kris-I know you know.) But still! It's craziness, yet...I don't know. It's sort of cool to say "Yeah, I did all that. Yup." without a second thought. But by the end of the day, you're a dirty, sweaty mess of homo sapien. Oh well...it's worth it. In a way...

Brain Salad.

So, Kris gave me this awesome idea; brain salad. Actually, she didn't say anything at all; her post helped me think about it. So, brain salad came firstly from when I wrote on a comment,"boggle brains." Now when you think of boggling brains, you think of something like someone juggling brains. Or not. But that's how my mind works. Then the thought process goes to "tossed brains." And when I think of tossed, I think of salads, because there are tossed salads like that. And that's where I got brain salad. I'm not talking about eating it, I'm talking about the concept. Wouldn't it be weird? It probably exists in the world. So, thanks for reading this most puzzling post. Brain salad!

Well...I did it!

I did it. I completed my first half-week of high school. A little scary, yes, okay, no, I lied. It was more than just a little scary. It was more like a freaked-out nervous sort of scary. But I did it. I persevered, and I managed to survive it. Amazingly. I don't know how. Anyways, the week is over. Thankfully. Yay! But now I'm burdened down with homework and tuckered out entirely. Ah. The life of a high-schooler. What's even worse is that you people reading this haven't even started school yet. Except for the select few. I'm so jealous. I wish you guys the best of luck at the land of gars and Ursuline and the other schools you might be going to. And so, as the French say,"Bonne chance!!!" (For the ones taking Spanish, German, Latin, Japanese, Russian, or Italian at school, it means good luck.) So. This is it. The beginning. Congratulations! We've made it this far and we'll make it even farther. Yeah, that's sentimental, but so what? It's true. So that's what I'm going to say about me and you! Go rhyming! It's so chiming! Anyway...I'm gonna have to say H.A.G.S.Y. No, it's not H.A.G.S.(Have a great summer), which I originally thought was an insult. My acronym means "Have A Great School Year!" So that's it. That's all. So, I'll end this post with two words. Peace out.

It's a bearish day...

Sorry, I forgot to tell you that all the stocks are down today. That's bad. In stock-language-code, they would call this day bearish. Bearish is bad. Bullish is good. Just so you know in the future.

A few items of interest...

Here are 20 obvious and not obvious things that I am going to tell you:

1. I had orientation yesterday.
2. It was mind-blowing.
3. The price of gold is down.
4. I'm the youngest in my French class.
5. Number 4 is very scary.
6. The book The Westing Game is very good; I don't lie.
7. I got some new songs on my iPod.
8. So far, only 5 people have taken my poll.
9. That means, probably, only 5 people looked at my blog.
10. Not alot of people care about stocks.
11. I do. Care.
12. My Coke Rewards is pretty darn awesome.
13. This is my last day of summer.
14. If you type An Owlish Conscience into Google with no spaces, mine's the only one that shows up.
15. Kris and Ri or Ri and Kris are spectacular blog friends.
16. I'm reading Catch-22.
17. It's a little odd.
18. I'm writing this blog.
19. If that's a shock, that's really unobservant of you.
20. Yay for Micheal Phelps! He won 8 gold medals at this Olympics!

Okay, that's all. Toodles!

Stocks.

As you can see, I like watching the stock market; don't ask me why? If you sort of want to understand it, I suggest you read The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. This book is one of my favorites, and I enjoy it every time I read it. So if you want to find out more, pay attention to Turtle's actions dealing with winning the game. The braided tortoise strikes again!

Update.

Well, I added two things (not including this post): the Pac-man game and the stock prices. Firstly, I added the game because who doesn't love Pac-man??? And because it's is uber fun. Secondly, I added the stock thing because, if you didn't know, I rather enjoy watching it fluctuate. I think it's pretty darn cool. Come to think about it, I might just put the price of gold on here too... Yes. I will. So, that's my little update with my coolio gadgets. Sayonara!

A Hmmm... Question

Doesn't it sound weird if you call a computer mouse, mice if there are several??? This is from previous experience. Yesterday at Walmart, I said to my mom,"Look at all those mice!" She was all like,"What?" So...should they be called mouses. Let's try it out:" Look at all those mouses!" Basically it sounds strange either way, so take your pick. Either be grammatically correct or not. It's your choice.

Birds of Paradise!

You know those weird-looking birds you see on Planet Earth and other nature shows that make you think,"Whoa, that's not a bird!" Well, it is. Obviously. And I'll do some research on it for all of us that wonder about this oddity. So, according to Wikipedia (which is accurate for the most part despite what people say), the many different species of the birds of paradise are found in east Indonesia, the Torres Strait Islands, Papua New Guinea, and eastern Australia. Also, there are tons of species. Just go look. They also have many rituals and dances. But they're pretty birds. Beautiful. Another tidbit is that they were hunted throughout century and century which has finally stopped today. And the reason they were hunted, you ask? It was because of their feathers. They were used to make headdresses and all sorts of stuff. So, there's your intake of learning for the day.

Sodas.

I'm going to name as many soda brands as I can. With my own comments. (Mind you, this is just my own personal opinion; it matters not to you.) Here I go:
Coca-Cola: pretty good; it's a classic
Pepsi: not as good, yet has a catchy slogan; pepsi, pepsi, no coke!
Dr.Pepper: awesome; way good
A&W Root Beer: personally, I don't like root beer, so I'm a little biased when I say it tastes weird
A&W Cream Soda: melt in your mouth, smashing and splashing, the best of the best
Fanta: depends on the flavor; it's okay
Sprite: it's drinkable, but usually I only drink it when I'm sick, so I don't have good memories while drinking it
7-UP: it's pretty much the same thing as Sprite; I just don't get the lemon-lime flavor
Mountain Dew: it's okay, but I haven't drank one in forever
Sunkist: it's fine; once again I just don't like orange-flavored sodas

Kushari!!!

Who doesn't love the all-time food kushari?!?!? Well, you probably haven't heard of it, have you? It's a food served in Cairo, Egypt as well as many other places in the Middle East. I hear it's good; I wish I could say I tried it, but, alas, no. I have not; I've only tasted it in my mind. You see, I had to do a little project on Cairo, and that was the dish I had chosen to use for it. According to my research, kushari is like a pasta made of macaroni, spaghetti, lentils (???), dried onions, and rice. I read some other people's blog or website, and they said it was good. So, I guess I'll try it someday.

THE GIANT SQUID PICTURE!!!

Have you ever thought about...a giant squid's eye?

Well, just recently I have learned a giant squid's eye can be as big as a beach ball. Isn't that crazy??? What type of vision they must have??? Well, I guess they need it since they live WAY under water. No light. Only darkness. Can you even imagine living that way??? No color except black. Wait, scratch that; their eyes allow them to see so it can't be all black. Also, I found out why humans can't see in the dark. You see, a cat(a creature that can see in the dark) has big eyes that take up a lot of its head, which means the connection to the brain is close and fast. Humans have smaller eyes in comparison to their heads and the nerves connecting the eyes to the brain are longer and thin. So it takes a while for us to adjust in the dark. Get it? I hope you liked that nugget of information. Sayonara!

Well...surprise!

So, you're probably wondering what I'm going to talk about on this blog. Sometimes it'll be owls, I admit, or it could be about anything else in the universe. So, get ready. These posts will be filled with...everything. So, once again, I say get ready. Toodles.

Hello folks!!!

The elves did it. :P

Hi...yay blog. Here I am now. On my own blog. Sweet. So...did you guys know Vivy is an elf???
